Mia's Glowing Heart by Lida Wyatt and Frederick Dodson tells the story of Mia, a little girl who frequently struggled with her feelings. Some days she felt lonely, unhappy, and unworthy of affection, and she battled to cope with things that happened in her life. However, one day her heart spoke up, and Mia started a vital journey to understand herself better and connect with all the emotions that were hidden within her. Additionally, Mia would discover the value of open communication, kindness, and self-love during her beautiful quest, as well as spreading what she had learned and assisting others on their path. This picture book provides a fun and necessary way for youngsters to learn how to be the best version of themselves.
Mia's Glowing Heart takes readers on a difficult but rewarding journey of self-love and emotional growth. It's not an easy subject to present to children, and I was impressed by how effortlessly Lida Wyatt and Frederick Dodson managed to portray a figure like Mia in a relatable but also educational manner. I particularly appreciated how children were shown how to deal with a parent's lack of attention, which is a situation that many of them confront daily. In addition, this picture book's vibrant and skillfully created images enhance the delightful reading experience and I enjoyed the color palette. I would strongly suggest this book to both children and adults since it provides an important but often neglected lesson that can transform everyone's perspective on life.
