Merciless Stars by Candace Robinson follows the tale of two sisters Silver and Afton through their struggles for power and love. Afton, Queen of Ketill, would like nothing more than to reign over her kingdom in peace but with King Thorin badgering her for marriage, that doesn’t seem likely. On the other hand, Silver is trying to bring to life the soul of her human companion and maybe help her sister in the process but things don’t always go as planned.
I thoroughly enjoyed Merciless Stars by Candace Robinson. This book was right up my alley with two amazing and powerful female characters, a unique and magical world, and handsome and kindly male leads. I found it so hard to put this book down and there isn’t any part of it that I didn’t end up loving. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between the two sisters, although if I were to choose a favorite it would have to be Afton. Her no-nonsense, I-do-as-I-please attitude made every scene with her an absolute riot and I couldn’t get enough of her. I also enjoyed the scenes with both couples. Seeing the hardships they had to face to get the love they desired always leaves you with a sense of fulfillment in the end. This book was amazing and it is going onto my list of favorites. I will be recommending this to all of my fellow readers because I couldn’t keep a treasure like this to myself.
