May You Live a Good Life by Kim Lim is a children’s picture book that tells of the unbreakable bond between a mother and her children and walks us through every stage of a child’s life. The mother makes a promise that she will always be there whenever her child needs her, no matter his or her age. This is a story of love, of wishes for success in life, and a celebration of the beauty of life and family.
May You Live a Good Life by Kim Lim is a wonderful tale. The illustrations bring it to life, showing both mother and child as the years pass. It’s educational in that it teaches a child they can rely on their parents, and it also teaches them the value of family and love. This is a book children can keep forever and pass on to their own children. I think that a personalized version would be nice, with the child’s name in it, so that will become a keepsake.
This is a well-written book, straight to the point and narrated in language that’s easy to understand. It will certainly help any child feel that their parents are with them through every step. Although it is about the unbreakable bond between mother and child, we mustn’t forget the fathers – they also have that bond with their children. This is a good book, highly recommended for children of all ages – and adults too.
