Every once in a while, I come upon a book that simply stands out. From the first page, I knew this is going to be a good one. Mama Loves You Always by Lindsey Coker Luckey is a combination of beautiful artwork and sweet rhymes that settle you down right away, knowing you are in for a treat. This story is 30 pages long and, yes, it is yet another children’s picture book. But what I think makes this one special is the unconditional love that flows from a mother to her child on every single page. But you see, it’s not really a story where you have a beginning and an end.
Each page of poems brings with it different feelings, moods, which emphasize the affection of a parent for her offspring. It’s the kind of book where you could simply read only one poem per day, and that would be enough to satisfy a child. The artwork, of course, is sensational, down to the very last detail. It helps capture the essence of the deep love expressed through the author’s words. The animal characters even add to the sense of humor and love expressed throughout. Mama Loves You Always by Lindsey Coker Luckey is a book that can be read from any mother to any child, and at any time. Bedtimes, naptimes, birthdays, any occasion or time of year warrants it. And in these times of uncertainty, there is nothing as comforting as a mother’s selfless love for her child. Highly recommended.
