Lucky Linden: The Ride of My Life by Susan Rozgony is a heartwarming children's book about a dog named Linden. Linden was adopted when she was a puppy by a young woman. The woman would pet her and pick her up and tell her that she was adorable, but then Linden, as all puppies do, grew up. The owner couldn't pick her up anymore and didn't think she was as adorable. So then Linden was adopted by a boy and a girl, but she wasn't given dog food, and she was tied to a tree. The children didn't spend very much time with her. Will Linden ever find a forever home?
I really enjoyed reading Lucky Linden: The Ride of My Life by Susan Rozgony. Linden was such a lovable character, as she was kind and brave. I liked how the book was written from Linden's perspective. The story is very heartwarming and beautiful and almost made me cry at one point. The story is very realistic and relatable, because many dogs are adopted, but then are re-adopted because the original owner couldn't take care of it. The book is also a great way to learn about Airedales (the breed of dog Linden is) because it describes what they look like and how they act. The book also shows that people should think before getting a dog, because Linden's first owner didn't, and then Linden grew up. The book is beautifully written and very descriptive. The illustrations are very well done and depict the scenes very well. Linden also looks really adorable in the pictures. I would highly recommend this book to all animal lovers and children with pets or those families considering getting a dog.
