Denise's poetic journey began when her poem was included in her High School senior book, the Northwest Passages. She begins to write poetically about her life journey through the pain of rejection, love relationships, losing her father at 12, and becoming her mother and aunt's caretaker at the age of 18. When life happened, she begins to sit and write about it in the form of poetic expression. As she wrote, God would bring healing to her heart.
