Love, Lies, and Hocus Pocus: Legends by Lydia Sherrer is the fourth book in The Lily Singer Adventures series. The time has to come for Lily to discover if the legends of Morgan Le Fay are true when she, her friend, Sebastian, and her cat, Sir Kipling, travel to England in search of the wizard's grave. The stakes are higher than ever before as her mentor is out of commission, time is running out to beat her father to Morgan's grave, and a surprising invitation requests they meet with Thiriel, Fae Queen of Decay, which forces Sebastian to confront his past. Working with new allies and facing their fears, Lily and her friends face dim odds that everyone will come out of this alive.
Lydia Sherrer continues book four with the same lovable and whimsical charm as the previous installments. Love, Lies, and Hocus Pocus: Legends has mystery and snarky humor with a mischievous undertone and the slightest hint of a romantic comedy. The newest book is a fun adventure that captures the rich history and magic of England through delightful details and Lily's own amazement. The funny and clever dialogue is top notch as Sir Kipling has found the perfect bantering partner in Yuki the fox. The revelations of Sebastian's tragic past are full of heart and depth as Sherrer further expands this character, casting him more in the light of the hero that Lily sees in him. Lily is a strong heroine, struggling with her own insecurities and fears as she rises to face each obstacle. Each character is delightful, humorous, heartfelt, and easy to relate to. Each chapter leaves you craving more. A must-read for any fan of magic and adventure!
