Love and Marriage Perspectives by Vince Brendan Vincents is a well-written and informative book that will help take the married couple, or those contemplating marriage, to what will be a healthy and prosperous life together. Everybody looks for that perfect partner to have a perfect marriage with. Nine times out of ten the marriage does not last. Why do some fail and others seem to succeed? Why are some troubled and others succeed? The extent of these failures or longevity of the marriage depends on the couple and their personalities. All marriages usually begin with the dating stage, and that sets the background for the marriage. Christians usually marry others of their own faith; farmers usually marry someone who enjoys the country life, not a debutant. Are you in love with the person or his/her job status/money possibilities? I like the author's explanation: A solid marriage starts with a solid foundation and a good plan and your selection of a good spouse.
This is a very good book for both men and women. Marriage is a two-way street that both have to work at to have a good solid marriage. I feel like the author covered all aspects, from prayer in one's marriage to resolving marital conflicts, sexual attitudes, abuse and divorce. There is so much in this book that I feel each chapter should be read slowly, digested and discussed by the married couple, even if there are no problems. It may just help them from cropping up.
