Little Miss Linda Speaks Out About Death by Dr. Linda J.M. Holloway is a thoughtful children's picture book. It's a must-have for every home, school, and public library. It follows Little Miss Linda and her mother, Ms. Lou B, navigating a heartbreaking situation with love, grace, bravery, and understanding. When Ms. Lou B goes to the doctor, she learns that she has a serious illness and that she only has a few more months to live. She doesn't know how to break this awful news to her daughter. Yet Ms. Lou B finds a way to help Little Miss Linda understand. With their hearts broken, they both decide to make every second count from now on. Little Miss Linda helps her mother do everything she's always wanted to do to make the following months the best of her life.
Little Miss Linda Speaks Out About Death is a valuable children's book that profoundly moves, inspires, and offers one of the greatest approaches to discussing a difficult and painful subject with children. Dr. Linda J.M. Holloway addresses the topic of death sensitively and compassionately and helps parents and children engage in a must-have conversation about death, especially in today's uncertain times. With touching and fantastic illustrations by Cameron Wilson and essential questions at the end of the book, this story allows children to talk about their emotions concerning death, prepare for the loss of a loved one, and start the grieving process even before death occurs. I highly recommend it, as it teaches children of all ages about the importance of spending quality time with their loved ones, creating happy memories, being grateful for life, and living well.
