Komali da Silva was born and raised in Sri Lanka, speaking Sinhalese. English is her second language and she's fluent in German, as well. Switzerland is her current home, where she lives with her two kids, and all her fictional friends. Her best real-life friends are fellow authors because they understand her passion for the written word, The Hunger Games, and power-wielding female characters in general. She loves characters with a bit of humor and a little dorkiness, so she can giggle while reading. Basically, if it has anything to do with books, she's interested in them. She happily refers to herself as a nerd who has an extensive library of paperbacks.

Light of Dawn is the third and final book in The Dawn Trilogy series written by Komali da Silva. Seventeen-year-old Dawn Huntington has seen better days. With her father (a Guardian Angel) in a catatonic melancholia due to her mother’s death, Dawn finds herself questioning what happens to people after they die. She questions Nate’s ghost, the specter of her best friend who had recently been killed by her former Guardian Angel’s girlfriend, Bonita, only to discover that ghosts linger if they have unfinished business. Now dating her new Guardian Angel, Gabe, Dawn feels unexplained friction, but is relieved to have both Nate and Gabe in her life. When Dawn comes face to face with her mother’s ghost, who arrives to deliver a dire warning, Dawn realizes that her mother's and Nate’s souls are in serious trouble and seeks out answers, only to discover the true extent of her own powers. With Bonita and her demons determined to capture Dawn, destroy her soul and use her body as a vessel, it will take all of Dawn’s strength (and Dawn’s allies) in order to keep her alive.
It is rare to come across a book series which is so well written that you want to seek out the rest in the series, but that is what Komali da Silva has done here. Without having read the first two books in the series, I felt a need to read them – not just for a back story, but because I want to own the full series for my book shelf at home. Light of Dawn presents remarkable characters from so many different supernatural playing fields, incorporating demons, ghosts, angels, and a human whose powers are so strong that evil is willing to go to any extremes in order to steal them. I found myself holding my breath in many places throughout the book from the suspenseful action taking place, and enjoyed every moment of it. Fast paced, action-packed and often humorous, Light of Dawn is a must-have for lovers of great Young Adult paranormal fiction with a dose of friendship, love, and romance.
