Let Go of Your Heart is a contemporary fiction novel written by Dawn Felton. Cassie Williams is quite pleased with her move from Bronx, New York to Tampa, Florida. Her transfer to the bank's Tampa location was accompanied by both a promotion and an increase in wages, and the area's lower costs of living allowed her to buy herself a condo and a Honda Accord. When her boss told her about Holton Bank's plans for having its employees participate in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 5K and 10K Run and Walk and his plan that she would be in charge of employee participation, Cassie was excited by the new project and committed herself to running the 10K. While she was relatively fit, she had not run competitively before and signed up for a gym membership at a club that offered training classes for the event. A spur of the moment decision to join a spinning class led to her meeting Michael, who helped her adjust her bike and was also training for the run. She had no idea that he was actually Mikey Mike, the hip hop deejay she enjoyed listening to so much and who had a well-earned reputation for being a player.

Dawn Felton's contemporary fiction novel, Let Go of Your Heart, is a well-written and powerful tale of two people who seem destined for each other despite the obstacles thrown in their way. The characters of Michael and Cassie are finely drawn, and, while the reader is at first tempted to see nothing more of Michael than the player image he is known for, seeing how the two of them seem to complete each other makes this novel work incredibly well. Felton's handling of the racial issues she brings up is deft and sure, and I found the conversations the women had at the pleasure party to be compelling and thought-provoking. Add to the mix, a marvelous musical theme and the two's newly found dedication to racing, and you end up with a story that works on so many levels. Let Go of Your Heart is a most impressive work and is highly recommended.

In Let Go Of Your Heart by Dawn Felton, Cassie Williams had recently moved from New York for a promotion in Tampa. Having just broken up with her boyfriend of three years, she was not exactly looking to get into another relationship. Michael Brentwood - aka DJ Mikey Mike - was one of Tampa Bay's most famous personalities and he had a bad boy reputation to go with the fame, earning him the infamous title of Mr. Smash and Dash. However, from the moment Michael met Cassie at the gym, he knew there was something special about her, and that she was not going to be just one of his one night stands. He wanted to get to know her better and was going to work hard for it. However, Cassie already knew Michael's reputation and was determined not to become just another one of his conquests. As if his reputation was not an issue enough on its own, there was also the problem of the cycling class instructor and his evident interest in Cassie. As much as Michael wanted more than just friendship with Cassie, he was willing to take that instead of insisting on more and pushing her away completely. In the end, it was all up to Cassie and she soon realized that the choice she made was putting her in the same old routine of being with someone who always put his work before her.

Let Go Of Your Heart by Dawn Felton is the story of an unlikely but captivating meeting of souls. Dawn Felton created characters that are lively, charming, easy to connect with, and fun to follow; they will capture your heart and mind until the very end. The characters are portrayed in such a way that they are each of a different persona and each with a unique take on life. This created an inevitable clash which injected more flavor into the story and made it much more captivating. I had fun watching them fight the inevitable and praying that they lost the fight. Let Go Of Your Heart is filled with page-turning suspense that will have you flipping pages up the very end without putting the book down.

Let Go Of Your Heart by Dawn Felton is a contemporary romance that brings two unique characters together. Cassie has just relocated to sunny Florida and is looking forward to starting afresh. When she meets Michael Brentwood, she is smart enough to see him as he is. Michael is a DJ who goes by the name Mikey Mike. He's a hot radio personality in Tampa Bay and has a different woman in his bed each night. But when he meets Cassie, he knows all that is about to change. But Cassie can only see him for the sexy playboy that he is and doesn't want to give this Casanova a chance to break her heart. It is their love of hip hop that finally brings them together, but Mike doesn't have very much time to convince Cassie that he's a changed man and that she's the one woman for him. Cassie feels it in her heart, too, but will she listen?

Let Go Of Your Heart is a sweet romance with a nice, wholesome female lead and a sexy, bad boy male lead. This story has everything a romance needs: strong alpha male, innocent female, a shared common interest (music and hip hop), and tension! Felton does a nice job of putting obstacles in her characters' way and having them struggle to overcome those obstacles. I loved that Mike didn't give up and worked at it to be with Cassie. That made him a sweetheart in my book and I think others will fall in love with him as hard as Cassie did!
