Legends of Erin: Towards the Restless Winds is a young adult fantasy by Meadow Griffin. Twins Fadin and Tase O’Callaghan are struggling to adjust to their father’s death and living in Aunt Kyra’s castle, where a green goblin hides in the attic. Events from their mother’s secretive past endanger the family because she stole the Xoor, a powerful artifact. Pucuela, Advisor to the King and Bojin family, wants the Xoor to continue their evil exploits and so terrorizes the O’Callaghans and anyone opposed to them. While fleeing, Fadin and Tase faces weird, terrifying creatures and wonder why their disturbing dreams seem so real? With warnings of death hanging over them, they realize how little they know about their mother and the mysterious magical world she brought them into.
Welcome to the world of fantasy where non-stop adventure and magic awaits you in Ireland. Meadow Griffin’s Legends of Erin: Towards the Restless Winds is a delightful young adult novel that will keep you hooked from the moment you begin reading. The story is book 2 in the Legends of Erin series and contains a set of characters who stand out because of their unusual descriptions and unpredictable personalities that fascinated me. One of my favorites is Ciaran the goblin, whose dialect is extremely hilarious. There were times when Tase and Fadin did things that annoyed me, but these were a part of the author’s creative writing. Young adults will not be disappointed with this novel and it is highly recommended.
