Author Biography

Gume is an author native to the Rio Grande Valley, TX. In 2007, he left Texas to further his college education, and after graduating, he lived in various states throughout the USA. With each place Gume lived being completely different from the others, his travels unexpectedly became a journey of self-discovery. Marked by each of those places in their own special ways, Gume was provoked to pursue his childhood dream of being an author.

At the time of this publication, Gume is back in the RGV and continues to write his place into this world. His most notable work is his fantasy series entitled "Kingdom of Abel". His most recent release, "Blind in Justice", is a Sci-fi Coming of Age tale, which is an allegory that sheds light on the corruption of authority in all possible arenas of life.

In addition to printing his work, Gume has begun visiting schools with the goal of empowering young writers and readers to pursue their dreams of becoming authors. Having come from a region with unfavorable statistics, Gume knows how impossible it may seem to accomplish a dream. Students from his past speaking events have walked away with confidence in their talents and in themselves as individuals.

Kingdom of Abel - A Journey Not Their Own (Volume 1) by Gume Laurel III is an exciting story with a spiritual vibe that will interest readers. The people living in the Kingdom of Abel listen to their inner voice that gives them the strength to venture out into the unknown world. They are searching for the weapon to help them find the beast which has been threatening the peace of their homeland. All of us have voices inside that can be heard during times of difficulties. These voices bring us hope in our lives during our trials.

The mysticism and the spiritual vibe of the book woven along with a tale of fantasy make it highly appealing. The wonderful imagery and the exquisite language capture the images vividly. The well developed characters, twists, turns and the whimsy and fantasy make it a page turner. The spirituality and mysticism in the theme is not heavy and the author does not make it sound too preachy. The hopes, dreams, adventures, and fears of the people living in the Kingdom of Abel have been captured beautifully by the author. Spirituality and fantasy together is a sure winner. The theme is refreshing and original and the struggle of humanity is discussed in a grand manner throughout the story line. The story sets the pace of the upcoming books and readers will surely wait for them with much anticipation after reading this volume.
