Kate the Kitty Goes Potty by Kristine Hokstad-Myzyri is the story of a little kitty called Kate who learns about listening to her body and when it is time to go to the potty. She is out playing when her tummy starts to make noises, which makes her realize that she needs to poo. She goes inside and uses the potty, getting her mummy to help her clean up and not forgetting to wash her hands afterward. When she is done, Kate the Kitty can go back outside and play with her kite again.
Kristine Hokstad-Myzyri has written a cute book in Kate the Kitty Goes Potty. The book doesn't shy away from the actual poo part! A lot of books do, but it is helpful to a child to include all parts of it, so they can understand it better. Telling it in rhyme makes it easier to remember and a child can soon learn to read along or at least memorize the words. The pictures are cute and really help to tell the story. I think this book would be beneficial for younger children to encourage them to use the potty and to help them learn when they need to go to the bathroom and hopefully prevent any accidents. Potty training is a big step for a child and this book makes it fun for them. I would recommend it for young children and of course parents who are having difficulty getting their children comfortable with the routine.
