Interviewing Michael is the first novel in the Siel Series by Desiree Span, featuring Allison Webber, an aspiring journalist who is determined to interview Sandra Siel. The singer granted Allison an interview but did not reveal much. Michael’s unexpected drunken presence interrupted the interview. To Sandra’s horror, Michael trips and splits his head open in front of Allison. She signed a non-disclosure agreement after the accident. Later that week, she received a text message rescheduling her interview with Sandra. Michael was anything but friendly when Allison arrived but was won over when Allison told him to interview her. Allison had much more to deal with than she expected during the interview.
Desiree Span gave both Allison's and Michael’s perspectives as they navigated a growing romance full of unpredictable twists. Allison’s dating history showed that she always tried to fix broken men. Michael covered his mental and physical pain with alcohol and refused to accept help. The transitions between Allison's and Michael's viewpoints are seamless, and the timeline is easy to follow. Supporting characters contributed to the intriguing plot and kept me engrossed throughout the entire read. The suspense built up throughout and had me praying, as I didn’t know what the outcome would be. Vivid descriptions of the different locations the characters visited were easy to envision. Tragedy, trust, intoxicating love scenes, and betrayal are encompassed by the storyline. Interviewing Michael will captivate readers who enjoy realistic romance novels. I look forward to following the entire series.
