Charity is about helping others without expecting anything in return. This means being less selfish and putting yourself in the other person’s shoes. Children are charitable by nature, and those are the attitudes that we should support the most. Inspiring Others: Celebrating Real Kids Who Are Changing The World! relates actual stories of children who have initiated and driven support for causes. They have taken steps to follow their dreams which are aimed at improving society and their efforts are highly commendable. Some children prefer to collect items to donate to others on their birthdays rather than receive gifts. Other children prefer to use their free time to help and defend animals. Each cause is unique. Stacy Bauer shares the inspiring stories of these deserving causes, accompanied by additional information explaining the situations.
I loved the unique and original displays of kindness shown throughout this book. If we encourage children to follow the right path, they will become exemplary people. Inspiring Others invites children to use their creativity to share happiness with others. Of course, making big changes requires collective work, so I liked reading how the good deeds attracted more people who were willing to help. The stories make it clear that the children turned to their parents and acquaintances for advice before starting their projects. The children understood that mutual collaboration is the key. This book has material that both children and adults can use to their advantage. Stacy Bauer has gathered touching stories and seeing children achieve great things is exciting because they have become role models.
