Author Biography

An avid reader and writer, Tracie Banister has been scribbling stories since she was a child, most of them featuring feisty heroines with complicated love lives like her favorite fictional protagonist Scarlett O'Hara. Her work was first seen on the stage of her elementary school, where her 4th grade class performed an original holiday play that she penned. (Like all good divas-in-the-making, she also starred in and tried to direct the production.)

Tracie’s dreams of authorial success were put on the backburner when she reached adulthood and discovered that she needed a "real" job in order to pay her bills. Her career as personal assistant to a local entrepreneur lasted for 12 years. When it ended, she decided to follow her bliss and dedicate herself to writing full-time. She has since released three Chick Lit novels: BLAME IT ON THE FAME, IN NEED OF THERAPY, and TWIN PIQUES, and is hard at work on a fourth.

I just finished reading a great book that I enjoyed so much! In Need of Therapy, the first book released by author Tracie Banister, is simply a delight. Follow the story of psychologist Pilar Alvarez. While she's the rock that all of her patients count on to help them sort out their problems, her own life is a bit of mess. Dealing with her dramatic sister, a mom who's determined to get her married off, and a love life that's less than stellar, Pilar's ready to go crazy dealing with her own issues. And it's not like she isn't looking for someone to share her life with; she'd really love that. But her options seemed limited, and not that great. She's confused and not sure where to turn, but she knows she's got to figure something out, and soon.

In Need of Therapy was, in a word, wonderful. I was hooked from the very first page and couldn't put the book down until I had read through until the very end. Author Tracie Banister has done a great job in creating characters that her readers will absolutely relate to, connect with, and care about. If that's not the hallmark of a great writer, I don't know what is. In Need of Therapy would appeal to any reader who enjoys chick lit, women's fiction, or just a plain good work of fiction in general. I highly recommend In Need of Therapy and will certainly be watching to see what author Tracie Banister has in store for her readers next!
