By presenting the logic of how the mind works, Letran and Wolfgram provide a strong foundation for developing methods to control your emotional experiences, providing the knowledge an individual needs to address deeply-held beliefs that may not be valid and may no longer be serving you.

The book has a good, logical structure as the authors start by describing the functioning of the mind, the conscious and the subconscious, and include case studies explaining real-life issues of young teenagers that many can relate to. The case studies consider the theories described at the beginning of the book. This is an exceptional resource for teenagers as they discover who they are and how they fit into the world.
