I Love Being Me, Uniquely Me! Positive Thinking Matters by Karlene J. Froling is an uplifting and motivating book for children that will teach them about self-acceptance and positive thinking in an entertaining way. The book introduces young readers to children from a diverse background who are happy being who they are and shows them the importance of self-love and self-acceptance. The rhyming verses capture how each child perceives their strengths and how happy they are with what they have instead of trying to compare themselves with others. Everyone is unique in their own way and this book helps young readers realize no one can recreate them; they are unique, special, and one of a kind.
This beautiful book is a must-read and a must-have in all school libraries and at home, as it will help children as well as adults to be comfortable and happy with who they are and what they have. It is a good book to understand that no one is the same, there is beauty in everyone, and it is okay to love oneself unconditionally and unapologetically. The illustrations capture the concept beautifully and leave young readers feeling confident about themselves. Very often children are compared with others while growing up, putting a lot of pressure on them and leaving a dent in their self-confidence. This book is perfect to help them accept themselves and be positive in their thinking. As the author aptly puts it: I love being me and I think you’ll agree,/ Someone sweeter than me you’ll not find./If you search high and low, you surely will see, Just one me—special, loving and kind/ I am COMPLETE!
