Heave Ho! is a short tale for small children which is written by Jose Lucio. A worm crawled out its tunnel so it could play. Unfortunately, a hungry bird spotted the worm and grabbed him with its beak. Another worm tried to help his friend get away. But the bird called for help and a cat heard. He came and grabbed the bird by its tail. While the bird and cat and worms were tugging and pulling, to and fro, more worms came to help their friend. A dog passed by and grabbed the cat’s tail, and there was more tugging and pulling. A worm had a brilliant idea and snuck up behind the dog. He grabbed the dog’s tail and bit on it. The dog got angry with the cat. The cat was mad at the bird, but the bird was too scared to be angry with the worm.
Heave Ho! is a cute little story that Jose Lucio wrote for very small kids. They will find it funny, as well as enjoying the nice illustrations. The thirty-six page book does not have many words, but kids will not find that a problem. They can understand what the story is about by looking at the colorful illustrations. The quote says: “The early bird gets the worm,” but in this book, that is far more difficult to achieve than anyone has imagined. This is a pleasant tale that is quick to read. It will make a nice bedtime story for kids.
