She's not willing to let bygones be bygones when the man she once loved re-enters her life. Diego has buried himself in tracking down treasure but when he is thrown back into Ruby's life, he sees an opportunity to win back the heart of the woman he never got over. Their reunion comes with more than old feelings as enemies begin to reveal themselves. Can working together to evade dangerous enemies help them find their way back to each other?
Luna Joya immediately captivates with a great opening that propels you into the characters and their world. You get an automatic sense of the tone of the writing, which hooks you from the start. The dynamic creates a romantic comedy element underneath the action and magic as the story successfully delivers a romance that feels genuine and relatable. Ruby is an amazing character that is incredibly layered with three sides to her that balance her being a single mother, working as a paramedic, and being a Legacy witch. Luna Joya dives into each element of Ruby with her nurturing side as a mother, a serious professional side, and a romantic side that's closed off to love. The setting is interesting with Sunken City described as a maze of wrecked homes, which provides a heavy dose of danger to the story. Those readers that love urban fantasy, romance, humor, messy second chances, and strong female characters will love this story. Santino strikes the perfect blend of action, romance, and fantasy in Heart and Seek which will be an instant favorite, and continues the Legacy series with another delightful read.
