Get ready for a wild roller-coaster of a ride with N.R. Alexander's Go to Hell. All Alex ever wanted was to become a successful author. Instead, at twenty-eight years of age, he works as a marketer for tech companies. After several publishers refuse to publish his debut novel, Alex runs into his old high school friend, Ernie, who reveals his deal with the devil that granted him anything he wanted in this life in exchange for his soul. Feeling curious, he meets Satan, aka Lucy Ferraro, and makes a binding agreement to convince one million people to sign up for Hell in exchange for a minority stake in Hell. Convincing people to go to Hell is not as easy as it seems, and with time running out, can Alex find a way?

Hilariously morbid and full of dark humor, Go to Hell entertains you from start to finish. With distinctly vibrant characters and a wildly unpredictable plot, N.R. Alexander has created a genuine laugh riot of a novel you won't want to miss out on. Alex is a protagonist who is never quite sure of himself. His flaws and quirks make for a compelling dynamic in which readers will find themselves completely immersed. I was also impressed by Alexander's witty dialogue. The last few pages were an absolute blast to read, with Alex, Nat, and Brock making a surprisingly formidable team. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone looking for a few laughs.

Go To Hell by N.R. Alexander is a humorous story about a man named Alex, an aspiring novelist stuck in tech marketing limbo. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets an old high-school friend, Ernie, who seems to be able to get anything he wants. Alex’s confusion and intrigue prompt Ernie to reveal his secret; by selling his soul to the Devil. Alex’s curiosity eventually leads him to be confronted by Lucifer herself, who then offers him a lifetime deal. He must build a growth marketing campaign for Hell to acquire one million souls before Easter. Success means his soul will be safe and that he will have partial equity in Hell. Failure only means one thing for Alex; eternal demise.

Go To Hell by N.R. Alexander is a supernatural comedy about a tech startup marketer who finds a hellish gig. It starts slowly and is almost mundane, but once Alex reconnects with an old high-school friend, his world is turned upside down as he eventually goes on a journey that leads him to Hell. Interestingly, the chapters are labeled like titles, which immediately gives you the context of what’s going to happen next. Alexander’s narrative style reminds me of mumblecore films, wherein characters have prolonged conversations. He strikes a balance with his dialogue-heavy narrative through his colorful and humorous world-building. Aside from the supernatural, it also incorporates different themes and topics from religion to morality. Ultimately, this story is about characters and what they’re willing to do to survive or live a meaningful life. It encourages you to believe and be brave despite the odds stacked again you. Recommended for those who need a break and a light read!

Alex had run out of road. He had been the reason why Ramply – a tech startup company in New York – had gained six million users in just six months. What had he received in return? A mere bonus. His genius was unappreciated and he was still working in the lower ranks of the marketing world. Alex had resorted to a career in writing, which was also not doing well. However, he meets his high school friend Ernie who seems to have made it in life. Ernie claims to have sold his soul to the devil and he can have whatever he wants. Alex’s curiosity leads him to meet a woman who Ernie believes is the devil. Alex then finds himself making a deal with her. He is supposed to acquire a million souls before Easter. If he succeeds he saves his soul from purgatory and acquires partial ownership of hell. If he fails he risks facing eternal doom. Get yourself N. R. Alexander’s Go to Hell to discover more.

N. R. Alexander’s Go to Hell is a hilarious page-turner that lovers of comedy novels with a psychological touch will relish. Alexander has created an intriguing plot, cramming ingenious twists into it. I loved how he subtly maintains a thin line between reality and the imaginations of the protagonists. His original and dramatic way of capturing the mood and settings made for an entertaining read. His use of introspection supplemented the humor. I particularly relished the scenes where Alex interacted with Ernie and Lucy. The vivid depictions of the events made the reading experience feel like watching a movie. Alexander brings out the emotions and complex abilities of the well-crafted and exciting role players. Alex is an ambitious guy whose curious and intelligent mind will leave you wanting more of him. I loved this book.
