Kelsey Clark's Giuseppe Takes Us to Capri! is a delightful and charming children's book that has quickly become one of my favorites. The story follows Giuseppe, an endearing cat who serves as a tour guide. Giuseppe takes children on an enchanting journey through Capri, offering them a chance to explore the island's wonders. From visiting the Augusta Gardens to savoring a delicious Caprese sandwich and salad and indulging in cake or gelato for dessert, the book immerses young readers in a captivating adventure. Additionally, the book encourages children to search for and identify flowers, animals, friends, and food on certain pages, actively involving them in the story. Children can also embark on explorations of the Grotta Azzurra caves and enjoy activities such as swimming, boating, and fishing in the island's beautiful waters.
The vibrant and enchanting illustrations by Valentina Felce are a standout feature of this book, making it a visual delight that children will want to revisit time and again. Kelsey Clark did a brilliant job of adding features such as a pronunciation guide for foreign words, making it a valuable learning tool for parents and children. Giuseppe Takes Us to Capri! also contains a glossary and maps to help readers understand the language and location, adding an educational component to the enchanting story. Children of all ages will benefit from this book. It's a must-have for every library, and parents will enjoy reading it to and with their children, making it a perfect addition to any family's bookshelf. I absolutely loved this book.
