Ghostly Murder (P.I. Extraordinaire Mystery Book 1) by Lotta Smith is an amusing murder mystery introducing Kelly Kinki and her boss, Michael Archangel. Highly educated Kelly Kinki has no expertise in anything and her skill sets lack refinement. Michael Archangel is an eccentric cross-dressing transgender P.I. Kelly thinks he's brilliant but nuts! They both have attitude and some to spare, which means they do some clashing. Kelly is Michael's personal assistant, which means she cooks his breakfast, drives him around, and does creepy, kooky errands for him. Coming into contact with dead bodies and blood, and running amok while rapists roam is not what Kelly has signed up for. To keep her beautiful apartment that she rents for a hundred dollars a month from Michael, she does it. Grumbling and freaked out, she treks out into the wilderness of an upscale city park in Virginia, trying to evade a rapist while looking for granny panties.
Ghostly Murder (P.I. Extraordinaire Mystery Book 1) by Lotta Smith is a murder story with attitude. I loved Kelly's snarky attitude and found the whole story amusing. It was pretty hilarious for a murder investigation. I don't usually laugh myself silly through a murder mystery. It was refreshing and fun! I really related to Kelly and enjoyed the way she voiced her views of the murder and her opinion of her boss's irritating lack of consideration for her welfare. I am looking forward to reading the next installments of the P.I. Extraordinaire Mystery Series! If you love a good laugh and you love murder mysteries, then you have to read this book! You'll be hooked and primed for more! Be prepared to polish up your funny-bone and join Kelly and Michael in their next murder investigation.
