Game On: Leaders Who Last by Alinka Rutkowska et al. is a collection of inspiring stories of how each individual entrepreneur created the life that surrounds them today; the role of “leader” that they embody and how they view what the position means and what they do in that capacity. The ability for them to “pivot or persist” in situations throughout the business side of their lives provides readers with a "behind the velvet rope" type of experience. Not only does it break down their specific story into pieces, but each segment offers up tactics and advice on how to navigate those waters when or if the reader is ever pushed into them by unforeseen forces that may come calling in the present or future.
Alinka Rutkowska along with several contributors created a star map for those who have never sailed the seas of business creation and what it takes to be a leader with their book Game On: Leaders Who Last. The voices throughout the book are strong and convincing. Although there are many, there is still a thick cord of strength in each that leads you straight from page 1 until the very end. One quote on page 10 resonated instantly, from Dave Silberman: “The “right box” wasn’t some place that grabbed each of us, it was a place we each constructed for ourselves.” Game On: Leaders Who Last will leave you yearning not just to crawl out of the box of sedentary life, but to fly straight out of it and pursue a life that makes you excited to wake up in the morning, instead of dreading the next day that comes.
