From Dream to Delivery: How to Do Work You Love, Love What You Do and Launch Your Dream Project by Don L. Daglow is a book whose purpose is clearly spelled out in the opening lines: “The only person who can define your Dream Project is you. From Dream to Delivery will help you do just that, by leading you through a guided conversation with yourself.” The question is: Does this book fulfill its proclaimed purpose. My answer is a huge “Yes!” and it does more than that. Each part of the book begins with questions that help readers clarify their dreams and determine what they really want to achieve, then it offers step by step tips, insightful lessons, and guidance on how to transform ideas into reality. I enjoyed the questions asked in this book and the author’s take on what to do with the answers.
Unlike most books that claim to offer bulletproof blueprints to successfully finding the missing link between having dream projects and achieving those projects, this book offers tools, techniques, and strategies that help readers find their path by themselves. The author understands that while two people can have similar dreams, their drive, characters, and their methods of work can differ enormously. Working from personal experience, the author lets readers in on the many pitfalls to watch for while asking pertinent questions that help them find their path. The book forces readers to take themselves seriously and to know precisely where they are going.
Don L. Daglow writes with the authority that derives from a personal success story and in prose that is both elegant and enjoyable. It has a popular, conversational style that will appeal to a huge audience. The book is filled with exercises that engage readers to work on their dreams and on refining their thoughts, and is structured in such a way that at the end the reader finds themselves reading their own story. From Dream to Delivery: How to Do Work You Love, Love What You Do and Launch Your Dream Project is packed with wisdom and a lot of what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. It is devoid of industry jargon, fluff-free, and entertaining while being exceptionally useful. A highly recommended read for anyone who wants to see their dream come true. Your achievement of your dream — and I mean any dream — starts within these pages.
