A young man’s very settled life is suddenly turned upside down by an unexpected visitor who reveals a secret that changes everything. Andrew Correo’s grandfather, whom he’d thought to be dead for many years, had actually faked his own death. Andrew is shocked to find out that his grandfather headed up a powerful international organization known as Vendicatori. Now, he has actually passed away and Andrew is given the opportunity to take over the command of this world dominating force and carry on his grandfather’s work. But, there is a challenge set in place by Grandfather Correo that must first be won. Andrew and his rival, Robert, must compete in a high stakes deadly international game to unravel a puzzle.
The first man to find all four pieces of the puzzle wins the leadership role as the head of Vendicatori. This quest leads them from the pyramids of Mexico all the way to Rome. They discover clues all along the way that assist them in finding each missing piece of the puzzle. But, one of the men doesn’t play fair. The final showdown finds only one man left standing. Which one will it be? Suspense builds throughout the story with a climatic ending that leaves you gasping.
Marc Estes did a great job of weaving the characters of Four Pieces for Power: Book 1 of the Vendicatori together in a compelling way. I was hooked from the first chapter. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters came alive on the pages and I never felt a moment in the story that lagged or that I lost interest. This tale is very much along the lines of an Indiana Jones adventure or a Dan Brown novel. If you like action/adventure mystery stories, you'll love this one.
