Forget Me is a work of fiction in the psychological thriller and interpersonal drama subgenres. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience and was penned by author Lisa Sherman. Filled with suspense, mystery, and plenty of drama, this engaging tale takes us into the life of Wanda Dellas, who is struggling to get by and support her daughter after losing her memory in a tragic accident. But when Wanda suddenly comes across the case of the missing, presumed murdered, Claire Stanbrick, fragments of memory seem to be coming back to her. Wanda can’t shake the idea that Claire’s imprisoned husband is actually innocent, but her curiosity for the other life that might be hers could land her into some very hot water indeed.
I absolutely couldn’t get enough of this fantastic and suspenseful mystery, and I devoured it from cover to cover in one sitting. Author Lisa Sherman has penned a deeply personal and involved narrative that really sucks you into the emotions and day-to-day lives of the characters, especially Wanda and her broken mental state. The most impressive quality of this work for me was the confidence I had in the author’s storytelling, especially with an unreliable narrator in the central role, and how I always felt secure in the knowledge that the much-needed answers to the mystery were coming. Sherman did not disappoint, delivering revelations and surprises with perfect pacing to make this an ideal and engrossing mystery read. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Forget Me to mystery, suspense, and thriller fans everywhere.
