This is the review of the audio version of "Forever and a Day" by Jill Shalvis. When Grace received the phone call, which happened to be a wrong number, offering her a job as a dog walker, she accepted it. The beautiful young woman had recently lost her job in the financial world. She knew nothing about dogs but figured anyone could walk a dog. That was before she met Tank. Tank was a Pug puppy with an independent streak. Her first day on job was a disaster but Dr. Josh was desperate and begged her to continue. Soon Grace was walking the dog, taking care of Josh’s son Toby, counseling his sister and taking care of Josh. She found herself not only attracted to Josh but caring about him despite her resolve to not get involved. Grace is an intelligent, beautiful young woman who strives for perfection. Her adoptive parents are scientists. Although they love her they have always pushed her to do more, leaving her feeling unworthy to be their daughter. Josh’s life is full of chaos: he is raising his son alone, taking care of his physically handicapped sister who has a bad attitude, trying to keep up with his father’s practice, and fill in at the ER.
Jill Shalvis adds just the right amount of humor in this hot and steamy romance. I recommend this book for adults only although the steamy scenes are tastefully written. It was fun watching Grace and Josh’s relationship develop. The two characters played well together. While I enjoyed all the characters in this book, Tank stole the show. Shalvis successfully captured the attitude and personality of my dog. Scattered throughout this tale are quotes and comments about chocolate. This is the third book in the 'Lucky Harbor: Chocoholics Trilogy'. The book was read by Erin Bennett. Her voice had just enough lilt to give the book an upbeat quality.
