Foodprints: How to Sustainably Feed 10 Billion Healthy People by Dr. Galit Goldfarb gives good insights about food and how our food choices leave footprints and have a global impact. The book makes readers aware of the immediate need to redesign the global approach to food and dietary choices. With a growing population and food choices, the world needs to change habitual behaviors for increased sustainability and to have better global access to food. The book is divided into four sections; producing more food, changing habitual behaviors that are leading to global warming and land yield reduction, finding solutions to equal food distribution, and finding methods to help people make better dietary choices.
There is a lot of useful information to make readers realize why it is important to start sustainable land management practices and help farmers adapt to climate change. Dr. Galit Goldfarb speaks about the topic extensively, making it easy for farmers, individuals, and government officials to find solutions to ensure that the growing population will never run out of food, and life on Earth will be healthy. The topic is relevant and the book will help readers to perceive the global situation on food and what can be done to prevent global warming and to support the growing population in a healthy and sustainable way. Foodprints also speaks about adopting a whole-food, high-fiber, plant-based diet with reduced quantities of meat and dairy products so that modern-day diseases can be prevented and reversed and a healthy and sustainable lifestyle can be followed. I enjoyed reading this book. The subject is relevant and useful to help readers make better dietary choices to reduce the costs of healthcare.
