What are destructive temptations that we need to conquer? They are among the many sins that distract us from living effectively for Jesus. In "Fatal Distractions" the authors deal with six sins that affect our everyday lives. These six sins are: pride; anger; jealousy; gluttony; slothfulness and greed.
This is another 6-week, 40-minute, no-homework Bible study from Kay Arthur Ministries. These studies are for those who have only limited time, such as lunch-time Bible study groups. Though they seem simply written, you will find a wealth of information in this study, with scriptures and information to aid you in going deeper into the study if you so choose.
Wow, this study gets down to where the rubber meets the road. These are six sins that we all deal with, including me. Since pride is one that I sometimes deal with, here is a Scripture verse used in week 1 that I like. James 4:6 says: "But He (God) gives a greater grace." Therefore it says, "God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble." I don't know about you, but I'd rather be around a humble person any day. And this study really made me think, and taught me ways to overcome this issue. Each chapter in this study captured my attention because they deal with something I need to be aware of daily. This is a little book I will for sure keep on my shelf for further studies.
I highly recommend this Bible study for any small group, or for you as an individual. Even though you can't do the discussions in a group, they are still good questions to answer for yourself.
