Gwendolyn Rose Forrest does not write poems only for their beauty, but she also uses poetry as a platform for sharing ethics. In Everyday Ethics and Equity, Gwendolyn shows her desire to develop an ethical world. You may not realize this is a book of poems by the book’s title, but even if you are not into poetry, you will love the simplicity and impact of these poems. Moreover, if you have ever read a book of prose on ethics, you will be delightfully surprised by the nature of these poems. Ethics can be a challenging and sometimes negative treatise, but Gwendolyn presents ethics clearly and enjoyably. Gwendolyn’s poems cover equity and ethics to help change the world, from politics to pollution and community to individuality.
Gwendolyn Rose Forrest writes in lyrical poetry in her book Everyday Ethics and Equity. She seeks justice and equity in life. Her style of writing is easy-to-read and delightfully rhyming. She covers every topic of ethics and equity that one can imagine. As a Black American, Gwendolyn has seen the injustice of inequality and endured the pain of exclusion. Gwendolyn has called upon her education (bachelor’s and master’s degrees) to author a book everyone should read. The poems are so well written and end in pithy sayings that will influence how the reader thinks about ethics for a long time. If people just act ethically and with equity, this world and society would be a better place to live.
