One of the most challenging things for parents who have babies turning into toddlers is to get them to poop in a potty. Mel-Tal's parents were no exception. They gave Mel-Tal a potty on her 3rd birthday and told her what it was to be used for. The use of a potty was very strange to Mel-Tal. It didn't help that a monster kept appearing in her dreams to scare her into not using the potty. What could be the cause of this and who is this monster? Find out in Even Monsters Have to Go Potty: Potty Training and Overcoming the Fear of Monsters, beautifully written by Dolev Zaharony. The author, who gets inspiration from his children and his childhood memories, introduces this book to teach children and parents how to get through the challenge of preparing a child to use the potty with success. It will also show children how to overcome fear.
I was attracted to Even Monsters Have to Go Potty by the colorful animation used to tell the story, which is an eye-catching feature of this book. The story is well thought out and executed. Another thing I loved about this book is the way the author takes his time to provide a note at the conclusion, explaining some ambiguous words and giving their historical background. The language used is simple and easy to understand. Dolev Zaharony reminds us that each of us must confront our fears to overcome them. Parents and children will find this book a treasure and most helpful.
