Edward the Egg: Coloring Tales of Adventure, crafted by Julia Fagundus, is a wonderfully delightful children’s book. It begins with a presentation page for the child, noting the child is an amazing person and the giver believes in him/her. The book has five adventure tales, beginning with Edward The Egg Likes to Cook. In each adventure, a mishap occurs where Edward the Egg cracks, but someone is always nearby, willing to fix him with tape. Additionally, there is a picture to color and another page where the child can draw his/her own version and send it to the publisher’s website.
This children’s book is truly unique, with a strong message for every child. “You can help ‘tape’ others too…with a smile, a kind word, a helping hand or a listening ear,” is written at the end of the book. While each story can provide many opportunities for parents to discuss the excitement of trying new things, they can also add discussions about ways to stay safe, or how unexpected things can happen but it will be all right. The writing is clear and concise and will be easily understood by children of all ages. The addition of coloring pages and the encouragement of drawing a child’s own version contribute to the personalization of each book. In fact, if a family has several children, it would be helpful for each child to have his/her own copy! Author Julia Fagundus has developed entertaining and educational stories, as well as fun activities in the children’s book, Edward the Egg: Coloring Tales of Adventure.
