Eden is the first book in the Sensual Romance series by Louise Wise. More than a romance, the story is about survival and fighting against the odds. Brutal and chaotic, Fly was imprisoned for his crimes and paid a heavy price for them. He was experimented on and then transported to a different hostile planet, but fate had other plans for him. Things took a turn when the craft transporting Fly and other prisoners to the planet crashed, and Fly was the only survivor. On the other hand, Astronaut Jennifer, a.k.a Jenny, was ready to prove to everyone she could be just as good as her father. However, things went awry when she was abandoned and left alone with Fly. Before they knew it, the two of them were bound together in unexpected ways. Fly becomes her savior, and she falls in love with him. But can an alien love a human?
Action-packed and with twists surprising readers after every few chapters, Eden is definitely a good novel. I enjoyed the plot, the narrative style, and the exceptional world created by the author. Jenny was a little difficult to like in the beginning because she was hard to read. Her original companions, Matt and Bodie, were easy to figure out, but not her. It took me a few chapters to warm up to her and then cheer for her. Fly was another story. He was flawed, but he never tried to be different. He let his true nature show, and I really enjoyed him for that. His development was fantastic, and I liked how he softened for Jenny. The details were great, and author Louise Wise made sure to keep her readers surprised at all times. I would love to read the sequel and see what happens next to these characters.
