Author Biography

Award-winning and bestselling author Aaron Ryan lives in Washington with his wife and two sons, along with Macy the dog, Winston the cat, and Merry & Pippin, the finches.

He is the author of the bestselling "Dissonance" saga, the sci-fi thriller "Forecast", the business reference business books "How to Successfully Self-Publish & Promote Your Self-Published Book" and "The Superhero Anomaly", several business books on voiceovers penned under his former stage name (Joshua Alexander), as well as a previous fictional novel, "The Omega Room."

When he was in second grade, he was tasked with writing a creative assignment: a fictional book. And thus, "The Electric Boy" was born: a simple novella full of intrigue, fantasy, and 7-year-old wits that electrified Aaron's desire to write. From that point forward, Aaron evolved into a creative soul that desired to create.

He enjoys the arts, media, music, performing, poetry, and being a daddy. In his lifetime he has been an author, voiceover artist, wedding videographer, stage performer, musician, producer, rock/pop artist, executive assistant, service manager, paperboy, CSR, poet, tech support, worship leader, and more. The diversity of his life experiences gives him a unique approach to business, life, ministry, faith, and entertainment.

Aaron's favorite author by far is J.R.R. Tolkien, but he also enjoys Suzanne Collins, James S.A. Corey, Marie Lu, Madeleine L'Engle, C.S. Lewis, and Stephen King.

Aaron has always had a passion for storytelling. Visit his website at www.authoraaronryan.com or the Dissonance website at www.dissonancetheseries.com.

“The only way out is through, even if “through” involves incalculable loss against desperate odds” is an apt description to open the conclusion of the Dissonance trilogy. Like the conclusion of a World Series baseball game, author Aaron Ryan filled the bases in Dissonance I: Reality and Dissonance II: Reckoning. Now, with Dissonance III: Renegade, the author has stepped up and written a grand slam home run. Without missing a beat, Ryan continued his masterful ability to maintain a storyline that brings together the concomitant attributes of characterization, scene setting, dialogue, and the pace of a top-notch story that, through a powerful sense of authenticity, leaves the reader satisfied and simultaneously wanting more. Verisimilitude, a sense of reality, is apparent throughout the series, especially as it applies to military equipment, tactics, and the emotional effects of war on soldiers and their camaraderie among their own.

As an army veteran of more than twenty years, I was especially tuned in to Aaron Ryan’s handling of the soldier's emotional responses to the ups, downs, and unbearable aspects of war, the descriptives and tactical employment of several old (the Vulcan Anti-Aircraft gun system) and some new (invented) weapon systems that implanted a strong sense of reality to counter the unreality of the gorgon creatures and their extraordinary powers. Having read the entire trilogy, I can confidently and enthusiastically recommend The Dissonance Trilogy to all readers and fans of stories that involve aliens, dystopia, war, and any combination within the science fiction genre. Although Dissonance III: Renegade successfully concludes the trilogy, wrapping everything up nicely, Ryan has left readers with a “whiff” that there’s more to come!

Renegade by Aaron Ryan is book three of Dissonance, an exhilarating sci-fi thriller series. Sergeant Cameron Shipley's story resumes with him and his team fighting against a disastrous alien invasion on Earth. Cameron unyieldingly continues to battle the alien forces while seeking revenge for those he lost throughout his journey. Meanwhile, the gorgons continue to drain Earth of its precious resources. Fortunately for Cameron and his unit, the queen's base has been located. This information gives them a much-needed advantage. However, a power-hungry President Graham threatens Earth's chances of winning the war--especially since Cameron and his team are now labeled as traitors. With the planet and its people hanging in the balance, Cameron and his men face the most challenging objective yet--destroy the queen and the funnel and stop President Graham at all costs. Can they succeed? Will they all survive to tell this harrowing tale?

Dissonance Volume III: Renegade is a robust and gripping addition to Aaron Ryan’s series. The setting is striking and well-detailed, thoroughly absorbing readers into a bleak post-apocalyptic world. The novel effortlessly merges elements like action, morality, and drama to present readers with a compelling story about survival, vengeance, and the relentless power of the human spirit. With unwavering action, Ryan also incorporates fantasy with reality, creating a tale overflowing with tension and intrigue. Overall, each character in this novel is exceptionally written and complex. Cameron and his men, in particular, add great emotional depth to the storyline while drawing readers into their fight for survival and freedom. Cameron’s character development is especially remarkable. His gradual shift into becoming a renegade and his resilient spirit add nuance to the plot. Fans of post-apocalyptic sci-fi thrillers will find this tale to be a gratifying and captivating read. Prepare yourself for the spectacular finale of this breathtaking saga.

Dissonance Volume III: Renegade by Aaron Ryan is the explosive conclusion to the Dissonance trilogy. Following a devastating gorgon attack and the betrayal of those closest to him, Cameron, now branded a renegade, faces the monumental task of saving humanity. As President Graham prepares to unleash a nuclear assault to eradicate the alien threat, Cameron and his resistance group must disarm the nuclear devices, destroy the alien queen, and bring the corrupt president to justice. Faced with overwhelming odds and personal loss, Cameron's journey pushes him to the edge in this high-stakes, action-packed finale. Ryan expertly juggles multiple and equally intense plot threads to ensure that no stone is left unturned, racing from tense scenes of political intrigue to epic, atmospheric battles on a galactic scale, and bringing it all together beautifully into one clear narrative direction as we race toward salvation, or perhaps the end of humanity as we know it.

Our hero Cameron is as bold and dynamic as ever, and his character arc here is emotionally compelling and narrated with close detail and gritty realism. Aaron Ryan portrays his transformation from a painfully grief-stricken man to a determined resistance leader, making him a relatable and diverse hero driven by channeling his pain into hope for survival. I was also constantly reminded and amazed by the vivid portrayal of the post-apocalyptic, alien-ravaged Earth that we find ourselves traversing with the resistance crew. The integration of detailed advanced technology, political maneuvering, and alien biology shows just how much this author knows his world in minute detail. Overall, Dissonance Volume III: Renegade is a superb conclusion to this thrilling blockbuster trilogy, and I highly recommend it and the series to science fiction fans looking for a high-quality, immersive read.
