Eddie Motion and Tangible Magik by Suzanne de Malplaquet is a fantastical adventure that will give readers an insight about the magic and possibilities that exist within all of us. Eddie Motion was different; he was not like the rest of the boys. His dad liked to fix things and people paid him money for that. Though his dad was good at fixing things, he did not know how to fix Eddie’s mum. Eddie was aware of the seasons, textures, smells, and this helped him to connect effortlessly with animals and people, no matter who they were. He learned about the real power of his magik when he went to the unknown land of Andalustria with his best friend, Melody. From here readers are taken through the enchanted forest where they come across the inhabitants and creatures of the land, vampire faeries, ogres, and many other unexpected happenings that will help them learn lessons and reclaim the 'magik' within them.
The magicality, adventure, fantasy, and action in the story are enchanting and these will keep young readers fascinated and glued till the very end. The author weaves in the important concepts of self-acceptance, a generous acceptance of life, discovering the magic and uniqueness that exist within everyone, and learning to handle the turbulent universe and its strangeness by becoming more aware of their surroundings. The Tangible Magik Press Pause Formulae and the Tangible Magik Toolkit in the story are excellent and they will help to fill readers with a sense of safety, and will help release fear, anger, worry, and sadness. The book brings out the inner child that is within us and will make readers aware of their helpers and guides. This whimsical adventure teaches young readers excellent life lessons that will bring out the 'magik' inside them.
