Double Crust Chocolate Cream Pie: My Truly Most Favorite Fluffy Friend is a children’s storybook written by Pamela Tomlin and illustrated by Tamara Piper. What could be better than a lovely spring day? One spent visiting Nana and Papa. Emma loves to visit her grandparents, and she makes sure to take each of her favorite fluffy friends along with her. Nana is blessed with a green thumb, and her garden is alive with the sights and scents of the flowers, bushes and blossoming trees to be found there. The fluffy friends also love the garden and delight in hiding amongst the bushes and in the trees. Inside, they love burrowing in Nana’s knitting basket, snuggling on her handmade quilts and helping to make Nana’s most famous dessert.
Double Crust Chocolate Cream Pie: My Truly Most Favorite Fluffy Friend takes the reader to a magical place where everything is touched with a grandmother’s love. Tamara Piper’s illustrations are marvelous. I loved spending time looking at each glowing jewel-toned panel showing Nana’s garden and had a grand time trying to find the hiding spots of the Fluffy Friends. These bold and brightly colored panels work perfectly with the story and make Emma’s visit feel so real. This book also introduces cooking, crafts and crafting to kids in a practical and real way. I especially enjoyed learning how to make Nana’s signature pie and having kids see Emma make it is important. Double Crust Chocolate Cream Pie: My Truly Most Favorite Fluffy Friend is highly recommended.
