Overall, I would highly recommend Do Ants Wear Pants? for young readers everywhere to truly fall in love with.

Making rhymes that give rise to silly pictures is a skill. This author/artist combo gets it right. They have ants in pants, sheep saying “beep,” ducks that drive trucks, and many more. The sense of unlimited impossibility as well as the real world in rhyming opportunities is charming. Some are realistic, like mice eating rice and others are imaginative, like a shark playing in a park. The picture of the smiling shark swinging on a swing is one of my favorites.

Children who hear these rhymes and laugh at the adorable accompanying illustrations will feel empowered to come up with their own. Poetry is often taught as words on a page written by adults and without illustrations. Children will want to refer to this book for reminders of how much fun rhyming can be. At the end of the book, the author asks, “Which was your favorite one?” Each child will probably pick a different one. It’s also fun to read at the end that the author is a retired police officer, who also writes stories for adults under another name.

Do Ants Wear Pants? is a wonderful book with illustrations that children will love. It also inspires young imaginations and is a great tool for introducing new words to a child’s vocabulary.

This was such a cute little book. I know my granddaughter will love it. The illustrations are spot on and the rhymes will help children as they read!!! This is a book I plan on ordering my granddaughter for Christmas.

What a cute, adorable story. It makes an awesome baby shower gift. My friend was thrilled to receive it and will use it as a bedtime story for her new daughter.
