Kelly's strong facade hides a lot of pain, and coming to terms with that pain is part of her journey in this book. Vanessa and Narena add some interesting secondary characters, as does Jarek's twin brother. There was enough intrigue and suspense to make it hard to put the book down and I zipped right through it. I will be waiting for the sequel to find out what's in store next. "

Lee is a fluid writer who manages to pull off a time-travel novel without leaving threads behind. (Except the few that will lead to the sequel.) It's a quick read and very enjoyable.

"The first chapter drew me in, the rest of the story kept me. Loved the contrast between Kelly's scientific ideals and Jarek's magical world. He is a great hero, that you will fall in love with. If only he had a brother. Oh wait, he does! Destiny's Past is a time travel story without the cliche of the people adapting right away. These two definitely have to deal with the changes they come across. I wanted to know more about Jarek's world, it sounds like a medieval magical kingdom. Patricia Lee left many 'lines in the water', no idea where the sequel is headed, but I know it's going to be good! Highly recommend."
