Author Biography

Stephen Lovett is a technology professional and occasional thespian, who thinks pizza is the greatest food ever invented. He grew up during the formative years of rock and roll and science fiction in Michigan, has been in Texas for 30 years, and still plays his music loudly. He’s wanted to write fiction since taking creative writing classes in high school. Believing in “Go Big or Go Home”, he didn’t start with short stories or a novella… no, he went with a full blown novel written during a period of unemployment enabling him to immerse himself in the writing process.

Dead Frequency takes place in the near future. Stephen Lovett paints this future in exquisite detail. Indeed he excels at giving us all the information we need in order to BE THERE and not just reading a story. The protagonist Jean-Paul Trivet is the kind of uncle, friend, brother, and co-worker everyone would love to have. He is damaged but still a stand-up guy. But a good hero needs a great villain and a crucible of difficulty in order for us to really know and appreciate his worth. I fell in love with Dead Frequency in chapter three when Number One, a very new kind of bad guy was introduced. He is awesome and you instantly hope someone can stop him but you can't imagine how.

I love rock and roll. I like a good crime drama. I was skeptical about how these two things might make a good novel. Stephen Lovett showed this skeptic how it can be done. Dead Frequency is awesome on so many levels that part of me wanted to stop reading it...because I did not want the story to end. This is my first Stephen Lovett novel. I don't know how many books he has written, though you can bet I will try to find and read them. He writes like a seasoned pro. He writes like I wish I could. I won't be surprised at all to see his name on a bestseller list some day. Buy Dead Frequency. It's worth your money and time.
