Darcy Vandiver, Vampire Sexpert: A Memoir is an entry in The Rabbit Saga Collection by Emil Jersey, a suitable read for fans of LGBTQ and steamy romance. It is the story of Darcy, born a Rakum, otherwise known as a vampire, in 1710. When he turns nine, his masters discover that he is born an “ish-mikhan,” a Rakum word that means “fix-it man.” He is born with the innate ability to sexually arouse and please his elders in ways none of them have ever experienced. In this fictional memoir, Darcy shares his story as a “fix-it man” and explores the relationship with his Elders, especially Elder Canaan, a tale in which pain and pleasure are intertwined in the same rhythm of life and where death has its hold on humans.
This novel is suitable for readers who enjoy mature themes and I love the author’s creativity in creating a character who refers to characters in other books. This fictional character shares his story in an arresting first-person narrative that pulls the reader in from the first page. Darcy is an opinionated, intelligent, and sexually skilled character who will fill readers with sexual thrills. The descriptions are terrific and Emil Jersey’s gift for character is exemplified in this story. This is a unique vampire story. Usually, readers find a lot of gore when it comes to tales of vampires, but this author explores a unique perspective in creating the vampires, making them sexually skilled creatures and taking readers on a sensual journey into the heart of Darcy. Darcy Vandiver, Vampire Sexpert: A Memoir is engrossing and filled with likable characters.
