In Danish Connection, Keith Thye has taken a very intriguing topic that can be a minefield and treated it with the utmost care and respect. When writing about the history of places, people, or even families, it can be quite a journey, and any author needs to tread lightly. The author has achieved this in writing with such tenderness, humor, and regard for his characters. From the first page to the last, the main characters take the reader by the hand and lead them through the story, allowing for side trips but always bringing the reader back with gentle humor and understanding. The author allows each character to tell their story in their own unique way along with the history of the era.
What an amazing book to read about the Dansgaard family. Danish Connection: The Dansgaard Family Saga by Keith Thye takes place between the years of 1914 to 2001 and it is interspersed with the history of these times and how it affected each character. There is sadness and joy, but the author ends the book in such a surprising way that it will make the reader go back to start reading again as there is so much of the family’s life hidden between the pages and lines. Thank you for the awe-inspiring read. I really enjoyed it.
