In Colors (Little Bunny Series) by Dianne Miller, young readers will see Little Bunny going shopping at the farmer's market with his mommy. Little Bunny's mother tells him to pick some red tomatoes, two bunches of orange carrots, yellow squash, and green lettuce to make a salad. Then they see some beautiful blue flowers and decide to pick a bunch. They also buy one purple eggplant and one dozen brown eggs. They divide the groceries between the bags and, once they reach home, Little Bunny helps his mother to make lunch. Did you have fun watching Little Bunny and his mother choosing the vegetables and would you also like to go to the market with your parents?
This is a perfect book to introduce small children to the colors of the rainbow in an interesting way, without making it difficult and boring. The illustrations bring the story alive and Little Bunny's time at the farmer's market with his mother will encourage children not only to accompany their parents to do grocery shopping but will also help them when it comes to identifying the vegetables. It is heartwarming to see Little Bunny being guided by his mother in the market as they do their vegetable shopping.
Tutors and parents will find this book helpful when it comes to introducing their children not only to colors but also to vegetables.
