Cats' Eye View of Being Green: A Rhyming Book about Sustainable Living is the story of a group of cats who come together to talk. They are concerned that people are now polluting the environment. The problem is that many people do not realize the extent of the disaster that has already formed. Through lovely rhymes, the cats explain the measures that can be taken and Octavia Lonergan invites the young reader to think of ways to help. One of the best methods for children to learn about the environment is to experience it and the book has many practical examples. The cats talk about transport, recycling, taking care of resources, and similar ideas so that children will be able to expand their knowledge of ecology.
I loved this book. The pictures of the cats are adorable and were created with simple drawings. The backgrounds of the drawings are real photographs of high quality and are detailed, making the book visually appealing. Cats' Eye View of Being Green is presented for young people to develop sensitivity toward their environment. I liked the narrative with its entertaining musical structure and useful tips that we can all follow, which makes the story more meaningful. Educating children about the environment will create a stronger awareness, and they can both participate and commit themselves to care for the ecology. Octavia Lonergan provides a useful tool for children to develop their ability to learn about and take care of our environment.
