Carousel Worlds by Kim Dwyer is a story about a beautiful young lady named Cassandra. She was dealing with her own struggles, trying to move on from losing her precious brother, James, when they were still toddlers. One day she discovers the truth behind his sudden disappearance and was unexpectedly reunited with him after ten long years. Happy, but unsure how to gain back the closeness they used to have, Cassandra and James’s family took their time to reminisce about happy memories from the past. Everyone is eager to create new happy memories in the future. As time goes by, Cassandra and her brother both experience new things and discover a new world that would soon change their lives in the most magical way. Genuine love and magical creatures are just a few of the things you can find in Carousel Worlds.

Carousel Worlds by Kim Dwyer is a whimsical and well-written story. I loved the way the author described the surroundings so distinctively. I felt like I was seeing Cassandra’s extraordinary world with my own eyes. It was a fast-paced story with a happy tone and the characters in the book were all exceptional, each one stood out in their own way. One of the characters I admired was Ray. He respected and understood Cassandra’s choices despite being deeply hurt. Cassandra and James are another set of characters I really liked. The interactions between the siblings were really heartwarming, I was really glad that after all those years they were finally reunited! I kept looking forward to their sibling interactions all throughout the story and I also found the sweet interactions between their parents to be delightful. Their love is the kind of affection that anyone would wish to have. From the beautiful stories of love to the extraordinary world in the Carousel Worlds, I find this book to be a truly magical experience.

Carousel Worlds is a young adult fantasy novel written by Kim Dwyer. Divided into three parts, the book focuses upon the lives of two siblings, Cassandra and James Condon. After growing up in a happy household, Cassandra's life changes drastically when her baby brother James is unceremoniously taken away from her family. Becoming a shell of herself, Cassandra struggles to get close to other people. However, when two brothers named Ray and Andrew show an interest in her, she finds herself choosing between them. Meanwhile, she is reunited with her brother, James, who returns home after almost a decade. As Cassandra and James start their lives anew, they discover a parallel World of Three Moons, where the Gods enlighten them of their future should they agree to accept their destinies.

Some serious themes such as abuse, depression, and teen suicide are touched upon in this engaging young adult fantasy tale by author Kim Dwyer. Part 1 takes a while to get going. However, from Part 2 onward, the plot moves at a brisk pace. The characters fulfill their roles and seamlessly blend into the narrative, but their primary motive is to move the story forward and explore the themes that the author is interested in. Cassandra and James are likable characters who are easy to root for, and I thoroughly enjoyed their relationships with Andrew and Bridget. If you're interested in a young adult fantasy novel that delves into some crucial issues, Carousel Worlds is the book for you.

In Carousel Worlds by Kim Dwyer, protagonist Cassandra discovers a different world that will change her concept about reality entirely. Cassandra is quite reserved and doesn't talk to many people in her school, which is somewhat linked to losing her brother. Eventually, she meets the Anderson brothers who prompt her to reconsider her introversion. She finds herself falling for one of the brothers, opening the door to a world of new possibilities: the supernatural world. Consequently, she has to accept or reject a huge responsibility that determines the balance of the world. Is Cassandra ready to face the challenging and mind-blowing world before her, and will she ever see her brother again? Carousel Worlds by Kim Dwyer immerses readers in a touching story about love, pain, and uncertainties set in a world of gods and supernatural abilities.

Carousel Worlds made me experience a dreamlike reality with exciting magic, reminding me of when I fantasized about having magic. I loved the characters. Cassandra's excitement about her crush and discovering magic is quite infectious. Kim Dwyer's book would appeal to readers who love high school drama, the excitement that comes with new and young love, stories about deities and horses. However, the book also depicts some dark subjects like trauma, abuse, and teenage suicide. The endearing and heartwarming portrayal of family, friendship, and relationships had me hooked. In conclusion, you should read Carousel Worlds if you like a feel-good story and are not concerned about a few shortcomings.
