Cardinal by Sara Mack is a contemporary romance. When Jen's life turns upside down, she ends up starting over with her brother in Chicago. She has her guitar and wants to focus on her music, but is unexpectedly distracted by the handsome and dashing upstairs neighbor Latson. Their relationship is filled with sarcasm, wit, teasing, and a healthy amount of smoldering lust. Just when things are perfect and Jen begins to think life couldn't get any better, she is given the opportunity of a lifetime; to tour with a band for five months and get the chance to give her music to the world. But that means being away from Latson for five months, and Jen isn't sure if their budding relationship can handle the long distance. Does she take the chance and turn away from the one good thing in her life? Or does she pass on her chance of a lifetime to be with the man that she thinks might be the one?
Cardinal by Sara Mack is a really sweet love story about fresh chances and starting over. I felt so bad for Jen because she kept getting dealt a bad hand and I really was happy when she found Latson. It was awful that she had a make such a terrible choice, but I understand what the author wanted me to think about in my own life. This is a really good story about dreams and goals and passion and how that all relates to love and second chances and starting over. Sara Mack is a great author and delivers an entertaining read. Cardinal is a sweet romance that is sure to delight!
