Blood Relations by Lonna Enox is a suspense mystery, the sequel to The Last Dance. Sorrel Janes was supposed to meet an old friend at the bird festival in a wildlife refuge. She arrives but he doesn’t. Instead, Detective Chris Reed shows up and, on a tour of the refuge, while taking photos she discovers a dead body in a ditch. Sorrel comes under suspicion but is more interested in where her friend has gone. Investigations lead to a mystery of his whereabouts and a mysterious package from a company called Blood Relations drags up her family history, threatening all that she has ever known. Not sure that she can even trust Reed, Sorrel sets off on her own investigations, facing terror on her journey. What she finds could change her whole life.
Blood Relations by Lonna Enox was a definite wow in my eyes. Once I started reading it, I seriously could not put it down and I really wished I had read the first book. Lonna Enox has a real talent at pulling together a story with all the elements – mystery, terror, deceit, trust, and a love story wound in as well. Amazingly written, the story flowed naturally with no hiccups along the way and is a definite page-turner that will keep any reader on the edge of their seat. I’m going to be looking out for the next one – I hope there is another one – because this is too good a series to pass up. Excellent work, a real winner here.
