Blink, Blink, Blink in Sync by Sharon CassanoLochman is about a unique firefly that is mostly found in the Great Smoky Mountains. What is different about these fireflies is that they synchronize their sparkle. When it's that time of year, people from all around drive to a place in the Great Smoky Mountains called Elmont, Tennessee. There they wait until dark to watch these beautiful fireflies. In this book, Ainoa's daddy wants to surprise her, but she wasn't so happy when it started getting dark and she was afraid. Then Ainoa started seeing all of these lights, and she suddenly loved the darkness with the beautiful lights flying around. Ainoa was so mesmerized she couldn't stop looking at the bugs. She was happy when one landed on her nose. Then, sadly their time was up for this year so the family headed back home. What do you think about the lights, and how unusual they are? Find out when you get a copy of this sweet book.
Sharon CassanoLochman did a fabulous job researching this book, and lots of information about fireflies is included. These are valuable facts that will teach children more about these flying creatures. I liked that the story is simple enough for small children to understand, and the pictures help them appreciate what the story is about. And the illustrations! Oh, what beautiful pictures on the cover and throughout this book. Pearly Lim hits the ball out of the park with these gorgeous and fantastic creations. I just love the cute little girl's face, as well as all of the other faces. The beautiful blue for the inside and outside of the book, as well as all of the vividly colorful night and day pages in the forest, will make Blink, Blink, Blink in Sync one of your child's favorite books.
