Black Sun - White Sand by Charley Blackwolf is a gripping tale that will keep readers glued. The story has a thought provoking plot revolving around an unstable economy, the decay of a society plagued with famine, war and disastrous happenings, and riveting characters. Ruben Silverstein is not only a heroin addict; he is also slowly dying. It's at this juncture in life that he discovers his inner strength, which takes him by surprise. Ruben never knew he was that strong a person until then. Although Ruben carries the message of an impending strike that is going to cause destruction, no one believes him. The Cold War has ended but the enemy still remains a secret. Will Ruben Silverstein be able to change things and save people?
The story speaks about the death of a nation due to many factors that contribute to a slow and inevitable decay. The topic is relevant and the story will definitely make readers think about the world they are living in. The author's portrayal of characters and their development as the story progresses is remarkable. It's a good story that could be made into a movie. It has all the ingredients and drama to make it a successful movie. The author keeps the tempo going without faltering in pace and movement. There is a lot of action and readers see many twists and turns unraveling in the plot as they read along. The ending is a bit abrupt, leaving it open for Book 2. This book makes a compelling read with its many dimensions.
